What is Rosin Pressing?
Rosin Pressing utilizes heat and pressure to extract oil from Cannabis Flowers. It was popularized as a safer alternative to solvent based extracts like Butane (BHO) and Ethanol (RSO) that require the use of food grade solvents and proper purging to produce a safe product. The who and why of Rosin Press South Africa:
Rosin Press South Africa was started in 2018 by Sean Hand with two goals: To bring down the costs of producing solventless Cannabis oil. To offer an alternative to the production and consumption risks associated with solvent based Cannabis oil extraction.
A journey of finding a balance between price and quality began and happened to coincide with the decriminalisation of Cannabis in South Africa. By November 2018 one of the, if not the first local low cost production Rosin Press in South Africa went out to its new home.
Three years and five variants down the line the business is still run from a slightly larger home based garage in Johannesburg. The range has moved to cater for both personal use and larger commercial use Rosin Presses but still maintaining the goal of keeping entry costs down, promoting local manufacturing and supporting local suppliers of parts as much as possible.
Continuous improvement practices have kept the product in an ever evolving living state, any constructive feedback is fed right back into the production process helping to push the standards of the local market whilst maintaining a delicate balance between quality and price.
Rosin Press SA also offers a curated range of accessories and packaging to assist the home and commercial user to go from plant to end consumable product.
